(Link and Sonic have ported to a cemetery graveyard.)
Sonic: "You okay?"
Link: "Yeah, you?"
Sonic: "Where are we?"
Link: "I been here before."
Sonic: "It's a portkey. Link, the cup's a portkey."
Link: "I been here before in a dream. Sonic, we have to get back to the cup, now."
Sonic: "What are you talking about?"
Link: AAAAAAAAAAAH!
(Link holds onto his forehead like he's in so much pain.)
Sonic: "What is it?"
Link: "Get back to the cup."
(Ganondorf (off screen) and Bowser are nearby.)
Sonic: "Who are you? what do you want?"
Ganondorf (off screen): "Kill the spare."
Bowser: "You got it."
(Bowser casts a powerful spell and kills Sonic off.)
Link: "Nooooo! Sonic!"
(Sonic lies right down deceased on the ground. Bowser pulls Link closer. A status grabs hold of Link and traps him.)
Ganondorf (off screen): "Do it, now."
(Bowser drops something right into the cauldron. Link watches on.)
Bowserl: "Bones of the godfather, unwillingly given,"
(A skeleton bone hovers right in mid-air under Bowser's control. he drops it right into the cauldron.)
Bowserl: "flesh of the servant, willingly sacrificed,"
(Bowser takes a knife and slashes his left arm right over the cauldron.)
Bowser: "blood of the enemy, forcibly taken,"
(Bowser takes the knife right over to Link and cuts at his left arm.)
Link: AAAAAAAAAAAAH!
(Bowser takes the knife right over to the cauldron and let the drops fall right into it.)
Bowser: "The dark boss shall rise again."
(The cauldron bursts into flame and Ganondorf emerges from it.)
Ganondorf: "My staff, Bowser."
(Bowser hands Ganondorf the staff and bows deeply to him.)
Ganondorf: "Hold out your arm."
Bowser: "Boss, thank you, boss."
Ganondorf: "The other arm, Bowser."
(Bowser looks a bit concerned, but does it anyhow. Ganondorf sticks the staff into Bowserl's right arm. The evening skies change and the others have been summoned.)
Ganondorf: "Welcome, my friends. 31 years it's been, and yet you stand before me as though it were only yesterday. I confess myself disappointed, not one of you tried to find me."
(Ganondorf begins slashing angrily at the hooded figures.)
Ganondorf: "Not even you, Dr. Eggman."
Dr. Eggman: "My master, had I detected any sign or even a whisper of your whereabouts."
Ganondorf: "There were signs, my friend, and more than whispers."
Dr. Eggman: "I assure you I never renounced the old ways. the face I have been obliged to present each day since your absence, that was my true mask."
Bowser: "I returned."
Ganondorf: "Outta fear, not loyalty. still, you have proved yourself useful these past few months, Bowser."
(Ganondorf grants Bowser a new left hand.)
Bowser: "Thank you, boss, thank you."
Ganondorf (looking right at Sonic's motionless body): "Oh, such a brave super-fast hedgehogl."
Link (off screen): "Don't touch him."
(Link struggles to release himself)
Ganondorf: "Link, I almost forgotten you were here. standing on the bones of my godfather. I'd introduce you, but word has it you're almost as famous as me these days. the young boy who survived. how fibs have fed your legend, Link. shall I reveal what really happened that night 14 years ago? shall I divulge how I truly lost my powers? it was love. you see, when dear sweet Pholda gave her life for her only son, she provided the ultimate protection. I couldn't touch you. it was old magic, something I should've forseen. But no matter, no matter. things have changed, I can touch you now."
(Ganondorf puts his right hand on Link's forehead.)
Link: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Green Goblin: "Astonishing what a few drops of your blood will do, eh, Link? pick up your weapon, hero of Hyrule. I said pick it up, get up. get up! you been taught how to duel I presume, yes? 1st we bow to each other. come on now, Link, the niceties must be observed, Rafiki wouldn't want you to forget your manners, now would he? I said bow."
(Ganondorf forces Link to bow with magic powers.)
Ganondorf: "That's better. and now..."
(Ganondorf casts at Link and he squirms around in pain.)
Ganondorf: "Atta boy, Link, your parents would be proud. especially your filthy mongrel mother. I'm gonna kill you, Link, the hero of Hyrule, I'm gonna destroy you. after tonight, no 1 will ever again question my powers. after tonight, if they speak of you, they'll speak only of how you begged for death, and I being a merciful dark boss obliged. get up."
(Ganondorf pulls Link to his feet. Link begins moving away from him.)
Ganondorf: "Don't you turn your back on me, Link, the hero of Hyrule, I want you to look at me when I kill you, I wanna see the lights leave your eyes."
(Link takes a few steps towards Ganondorf.)
Link: "Have it your way."
(They both cast and their streams of magic powers meet 1 another. They both struggle.)
Ganondorf: "Do nothing. he's mine to finish. he's mine."
(The ghost figures of Kobus and Pholda and Sonic appear right where Link's standing.)
Kobus's Ghost Figure: "Link, when the connection's broken, you must get to the portkey. we can delay it for a moment to give you time, but only a moment, do you understand?"
Sonic's Ghost Figure: "Link, take my body back will you? take my body back to my father."
Pholda's Ghost Figure: "Let go. Link, you're ready. let go. let go."
(The connection breaks apart. Link goes right over to Sonic's motionless body and summons the cup right over to them. In an instant, they port out. Ganondorf looks angry and upset.)
Ganondorf: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
(Back in the arena, Link appears with Sonic's motionless body. the entire crowd doesn't realize what's going on out there. Link silently weeps on Sonic's motionless body.)
CatBoy: "He did it!"
Lincoln, Clyde, Ronnie Anne, Sid, Carl and Adelaide: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Rafiki: "Link! Link!"
(Rafiki tries to pry Link from Sonic's motionless body.)
Link: "No! no! no! don't!"
Alex: "For corn sakes, Rafiki, what's happened?"
Link: "He's back, he's back, Ganondorf's back. Sonic, he asked me to bring his body back, I couldn't leave him, not there."
Rafiki: "It's alright, Link, it's alright, he's home, you both are."
Alex: "Keep everybody in their seats. a super-fast hedgehog has just been killed. the body must be moved, Rafiki. there are too many people."
(Jules is now pushing his way right through the entire crowd.)
Jules: "Let me through. let me through! let me through!"
(Jules lightly pushes Link away from Sonic's motionless body.)
Jules: "That's my son! it's my boy! my boooooooy!"
The entire crowd, especially Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Cream, Rouge, Espio, Charmy and Vector, look on depressed about this.
(The Beast is getting Link to stand up and come along with him.)
Beast: "Come on, get up, easy, easy."
Jules: "No........no........no.......no.......NOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Beast (still walking around with April): "This isn't where you wanna be right now, come on."
Link: "No!"
Beast: "It's alright, I got you, I got you, come on, easy now."
Link: "No! no!"
Beast: "Are you alright, Link? does it hurt? that?"
Link: "Not so much now."
Beast: "I better take a look at it."
(Link's left arm has the skull and snake markings on it.)
Link: "The cup was a portkey. somebody had bewitched it."
Beast: "What was it like? what was he like?"
Link: "Who?"
Beast: "The dark boss. what was it like to stand in his presence?"
(Meanwhile in the Toonwarts assembly.......)
Rafiki: "Today, we acknowledge a really terrible loss. Sonic the Hedgehog was as you all know, exceptionally hard working, intricately fair minded, and most importantly, a fierce, fierce friend. I think therefore you have the right to know exactly how he died. you see? Sonic the Hedgehog was murdered by Ganondorf. the ministry of magic doesn't wish me to tell you this. but not to do so, I think would be an insult to his memory. now the pain we all feel at this dreadful loss reminds me, reminds us that while we may come from different places and speak in different tongues, our hearts beat as 1. In light of recent events the bonds of friendship we made this year will be more important than ever. remember that, and Sonic the Hedgehog will not have died in vain, you remember that. and we'll celebrate a blue super-fast hedgehog who was kind and honest and brave and true, right to the very end."
